Any chance for an Ubuntu build?
KAMiKAZOW wrote over 2 years ago
@spacestae1 If you contribute the necessary package definition files, I'll add an Ubuntu target. Native Debian packaging is super weird, so I don't think I'll touch it ever again. OBS can somehow use .spec for Debian/Ubuntu packages as well. That I'd prefer.
Looking forward for an Submit Request.

Will converting .rpm with alien work as Ubuntu install? I tried it, it installed properly (i think) but i can find no difference in my dolphin-emu or anywhere else..
KAMiKAZOW wrote over 2 years ago
I don't think that would work but I'm not sure. Not an Ubuntu guy myself.

It used to work, but not anymore due to Ubuntu (and derivatives) being too far behind in the available libQt version.
It would be nice to see .deb packages since most non-technical Linux users use a deb-based distro. Be that Ubuntu, Elementary, Linux Mint, or Pop!_OS.
KAMiKAZOW wrote over 2 years ago
Fedora is fine for non-technical users and I don't care for unsubstantiated claims what "most" of any group of users use. I don't intend write a package definition file for Ubuntu, as I've already wrote. Maybe I'll migrate to Flatpak in the future. Just maybe. And no, don't even ask about Snap.

Could you perhaps point me into the right direction for generating the package definition files? I'm novice, but always up for a challenge. I would like to attempt to provide you with Ubuntu 20.04 definition files. I am a fast learner with plenty of time.

I guess debian.org has proper documentation somewhere.
KAMiKAZOW wrote about 1 year ago
Btw., since the upstream sources are currently not compatible with Linux anyway (most recent checkout didn't build on any distribution), you may wanna practice with something else.
Mental_Returd wrote over 1 year ago
would it be possible for there to be a manjaro build?
KAMiKAZOW wrote over 1 year ago
OBS supports Arch, not Manjaro. For an Arch target I would also need the PKGSRC file or whatever it's called.
Mental_Returd wrote over 1 year ago
So it wouldnt be possible? (and sorry if I ask or do something dumb, Im new to using linux)
KAMiKAZOW wrote over 1 year ago
No, not possible yet. Consider regular Dolphin Emu, though. It should be the better choice in most circumstances anyway.

An unusual one I know but what are the chances of a Solus build?
KAMiKAZOW wrote about 1 year ago
PrimeHack doesn't currently even built on Linux at all and AFAIK Open Biuld Service can't do Solus packages. Ask Solus developers.

Any chance we could get a Flatpak? Somebody's done all of the work for Dolphin already, so it should be a pretty easy port:
https://github.com/flathub/org.DolphinEmu.dolphin-emu
Whether this is a discussion for here or at shiiion/dolphin I'm not sure.
KAMiKAZOW wrote 8 months ago
There are two problems with that: The smaller one is that I have yet to look into Flatpak packaging which is on my to do list. The bigger problem is that PrimeHack does not build under Linux any longer and I've lost patience because after I reported a bug and someone fixed it after a while, shortly thereafter they broke Linux again.
For now I guess the Windows version with Wine has better chances to run.

Could we possibly get an Arch build?
KAMiKAZOW wrote 6 months ago
If you contribute a PKGBUILD file and possibly required patches: Sure.
