Hey again! Just want to let you know I've actually been trying out this branch of the build on a Leap 15.3 installation, despite it being built against SLE.
I have mostly good news: It works well, with the exception of GDM. For some reason, if GDM is the default display manager, it'll permanently hang before boot at "Started locale services." As a temporary workaround, I tested out LightDM with some custom edits to the session files to allow it to launch Wayland sessions, and both Xorg and Wayland sessions of Gnome 40 launch perfectly through it when it's set to default.
Sorry I don't have much other information to give you. When the GDM freeze occurs, I'm not even able to open a TTY and journalctl turns up nothing immediately useful when run later.
Hope this helps in some way regardless!

Hey, thanks for the testing, it is weird, I tested the gdm by myself like 2-3 weeks ago (on SLE-15-SP3) and did not notice that.
It could easily be something wrong on my end, or a problem specific to Leap. If I happen to learn anything else I'll let you know. Thanks again for going through the effort to package GNOME 40, everything aside from GDM is working wonderfully!
I remember I stumbled a bit over the recent change of /etc (to /usr/etc). Since you are installing this on Leap 15.3, it's worthy of trying if cp /usr/etc/pam.d/gdm-* /etc/pam.d/ helps.
cp /usr/etc/pam.d/gdm-* /etc/pam.d/
That was it! After I copied the pam files and restarted the GDM service, it's working as expected. Thank you!
Thanks for the news :-) btw. this is a working tree for me to do some pre-test, and I am now switching the focus on an more "official" GNOME:STABLE project https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/GNOME:STABLE:41 . I just enabled the Leap 15.3 build in case there is a need (but can't promise time on it recently).
Thanks for letting me know! I switched over and started tracking that branch instead, and it's working just as well.
