Sets of software packages for population genetics, phylogenetics, phylogenomics, bioinformatics and next-generation sequencing (NGS) "rolled" as RPMs for CentOS 6 (these also work with Scientific Linux 6 and other RHEL 6 clones like PUIAS/Springdale Linux).

Included are a few other packages (i.e., most, nano, ploticus, etc) for 1) viewing and/or displaying such data; 2) are missing from the distro, and/or; 3) are buggy in their default implementation.

For best results, installs should be done on x86_64 systems since some packages are not supported on i586.

While these packages should install and execute as anticipated, some require enabling additional repositories (i.e., EPEL) to provide other dependencies. Thus, have the plugin "yum-plugin-priorities" configured correctly prior to using this repo (see your distro's documentation for details).

Furthermore, based on testing, dependency issues can occur if a system is not "up-to-date" with (as of Feb 2014) CentOS 6.5. Of note, packages depending on the openmpi framework might and/or will likely need to be recompiled against the OS across point releases.

Please provide karma (i.e., feedback) via email if you experience other issues.
