Hi

To enable awstats, please add the Variable "AWSTATS" 
to APACHE_SERVER_FLAGS in /etc/sysconfig/apache2:

  APACHE_SERVER_FLAGS="AWSTATS"

and restart apache:
  
  rcapache2 restart

Have a look at the file /etc/apache2/conf.d/awstats.conf 
for more details about the logged content.
