New package ffado to enable firewire support for jack which used to be supplied by the now defuct libfreebob. Ffado was created 26 December 2005 it's website is http://www.ffado.org/ I created the package30 April 2010 and have found the upstream developers very helpful and prompt in responding to tickets I created for certain build issues. The package already exists in debian sid, ubuntu and fedora. License = GPLv2+. Users of multimedia aplications which interface to various music oriented equipment via firewire iee1394 and jack. There are no known security issues.I've emailed an introduction to the factory list
