to avoid that security nightmare
NOTE:
I never used pidgin, so I don't know if the plugin breaks without
flash-player. Since it's only recommended, I don't hope so ;-)
Nevertheless, please check this before accepting this SR.
Adobe announced that support for flash-player will end in 2020:

Even before this announcement (read as "always"), flash-player was a
security nightmare.
