The project is not maintained any longer and superseded by PDAL. (See https://www.liblas.org/)

Obviously it also doesn't build any longer. This is not easy to fix, since libLAS uses laszip/laszip.hpp which was removed from LASzip in version 3.1.0. (See https://github.com/LASzip/LASzip/commit/7775527361d153b7fde0b97ab223810f7c265f54#diff-4a8b1a7d7536a7a269d5469cceea341f) We have the current version 3.1.1.

So the package maybe builds with laszip 2.2.0, but we don't offer that package anymore.

For sure. Now that we finally have the lastools we will be able to build PDAL differently and also libght.

So first fixing them first. then get ride of this one. Would you mind to have a look ?

I've been trying to fix PDAL already, maybe you want to have a look. (https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/588645)

I think libght is a bit harder, because tools/las2ght.c would need to be rewritten. The upstream version still uses libLAS.

and the circle deps is libght depend on liblas, pgpointcloud depend on libght, and pdal depend on pc. There osgeo sprint in Bonn actually, perhaps easier to get libght fixed.

I guess pgpointcloud only depends on the library part of libght and doesn't need the "tools". The library doesn't need libLAS, and I guess the tools are more like examples.

If I'm not mistaken, it would then suffice to exclude las2ght from the build of libght.

Hey that sound quite a good idea. Would you mind to make me a sr proposal for libght ?

Aaron Puchert's avatar

There seem to be no more dependencies.
