The spec file is generated from pkg/libsmbios.spec.in (from sources), with very few adjustments. From a maintenance point of view, I'm not sure it's a good idea to introduce such big changes without patching pkg/libsmbios.spec.in as well/submitting it to upstream.

Completely different subject: It appears that the update to 2.4.1 fixes boo#1086732 (crash of fwupd, which relies on libsmbios), it can be added to the changelog.
