Even good old syslogd has networking. Content-based filtering is also just one of many possibilities. Almost any features of syslog-ng are also available in rsyslog, logstash and nxlog, except it's configuration language. So I'd leave it generic or change to: "Enhanced system logging daemon with a flexible configuration language"
Aha - but if even good old syslogd has networking (and its own kind of filtering), then in what way is syslog-ng "enhanced"? That's was my main point.
