It would be nice to be able to execute tests, I've created pr https://github.com/jarun/pdd/pull/12 to include that stuff in the sdist archive then you can add following:

%check %pytest test.py

But that requires upstream to ship new version, if they won't the submission is also acceptable as-is and it can be enabled with future release.

I merged the PR as I'm one of the maintainers of the upstream package, but I don't release new versions. I would prefer if we merge it as it is right now. I don't know when a new version will be released.
