You suggested more tweaking . . . just noting that _constraints has been the most frequently tweaked file in the ceph package since the very beginning. It's a real challenge to get it right. Actually, I don't think there is any "right" form of _constraints for ceph in the OBS at all... it's a desperate attempt to get a reliable build on the workers available.
But thanks for suggesting physicalmemory. It sounds like it's worth a try!
yeah, its a terrible balance act; the problem is that if we get too tight, we only have 8 workers left or so. and those workers are currently the only ones that can build:
And all of them being builds taking forever - with the 8 workers, we're basiclaly deadlocking ourselves.
The current ceph constraint gets us out to 64 machines already. Which helps to spread the load a bit better.
If we can find any way to drop the disk capacity further, that could help (where does this consumer > 30GB disk for example. this sounds like incredibly much for such a build)
Anyway, for now, this seems to help us and more fine-tuning can possibly be done in incremental steps if we have more ideas
