Let's decline the SR here and just define php_name as "php". As all modules usually provide a unversioned PHP-version of themselves, this should be the (more flexible) way to go.

The source package 'roundcubemail' has been removed
This makes it unresolvable on 15.3 and beyond.
What about just defining php_name as "php" (as all modules provide this) and have a "Prefer:" in the project config for each distribution?
I fail to see the reason to hardcode a PHP version here. This package should definitely not create PHP version dependent directories, as there is nothing which binds it to a specific version (like extensions for instance). There may be a minimum/maximum version required though.
I'd appreciate if this php_name variable could just be dropped. Personally I can not judge whether it's needed or not. I just wanted to migrate to PHP8 on all my system and this SR was a quick work-around. Somebody else with more PHP knowledge should probably fix this.
