Thank you @m4r3k, much appreciated!
@m4r3k I am pretty surprised that we need manually created updates for this packages to be submitted to d:l:h. Don't we have this elaborate infrastructure anymore that keeps those packages up-to-date automatically?
The automation for git-annex apparently failed for months. And nobody reacted to the build fail notifications, delete requests, mailing list posts and manual submit requests until @m4r3k picked it up. Sometimes it needs a human being to get things done.
I'm not looking for a value judgment. I'm looking for information. Based on my understanding of the update process used for Haskell packages, this kind of problem should have never occurred. I'm trying to understand why it did and what I can do to help preventing thus kind of problem in the future.
git-annex is not a haskell development package. It does not fit the project description of devel:languages:haskell
git-annex should not depend on any automatism designed for ghc packages which come from hackage.
I tried to submit it to devel:tools:scm in order to be able to request a devel project change, but that one was denied.
