bspwm
https://github.com/baskerville/bspwm
A tiling window manager based on binary space partitioning.
* It only responds to X events, and the messages it receives on a dedicated socket.
* bspc is a program that writes messages on bspwm's socket.
* bspwm doesn't handle any keyboard or pointer inputs: a third party program (e.g. sxhkd) is needed in order to translate keyboard and pointer events to bspc invocations.

Version 0.9.7 Release: - Bug fix for "single_monocle does not work for the first node on a desktop" (https://github.com/baskerville/bspwm/issues/929) - Documentation Changes Since, the current version of bspwm in the repos is version, 0.9.5, it should be noted that this release also includes the changes that came with version 0.9.6, which has 10 months of bugfixes and new features and documentation updates. I wasn't able to find any breaking changes in the move from version 0.9.5 to 0.9.6.
