1. Overview
-----------

Designed to work with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 1, SUSE
Linux Enterprise Real Time Extension 12 Service Pack 1 is a fully supported,
real time operating system extension, specifically engineered to reduce the
latency, increase the predictability, and increase the reliability of time
sensitive mission critical applications. 

SUSE Linux Enterprise Real Time Extension is an add-on product to SUSE Linux
Enterprise Server.

The file "NEWS" on this medium lists the new features, enhancements, and
driver updates of this product release.

3. Installation
---------------

To install SUSE Linux Enterprise Real Time Extension 12 Service Pack 1,
start a regular SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 1 installation
and select SUSE Linux Enterprise Real Time Extension 12 Service Pack 1 as an
Add-On product during the installation.

Alternately, if SUSE Linux Enterprise Server is already installed, you can
start the installation from YaST -> software -> Add-On Product.  However,
you will have to select the -rt kernel flavor as the default using YaST ->
System -> Boot Loader, as in this alternate case that is not done
automatically.
