File README.md of Package opensuse-vsf-leap
This package attempts to restore the familiar and proven configurations from before Leap 16 as far as possible.
Among other things:
- The first user is no longer root, familiar root behavior,
- Reactivation of 32-bit and installation of necessary SELinux settings for Steam.
- Add missing cockpit for the no longer existing and removed yast.
Further rollbacks may follow.
Important Note
--------------
When installing the package, a message like the following appears:
Problem: 1: opensuse-vsf-leap-1.0-lp160.2.1.noarch requires ‘patterns-cockpit’, but this requirement cannot be satisfied
Uninstallable providers: patterns-cockpit-16.0-160000.2.2.x86_64[openSUSE:repo-oss]
Solution 1: Uninstall busybox-hostname-1.37.0-160000.2.2.noarch
Solution 2: Do not install opensuse-vsf-leap-1.0-lp160.2.1.noarch
Solution 3: Break opensuse-vsf-leap-1.0-lp160.2.1.noarch by ignoring some dependencies
In this case, select solution 1.
Firewall and cockpit
--------------------
If the firewall is enabled, the following must be done in order to access it via the network:
$> firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=public --add-service=cockpit
$> firewall-cmd --reload
Now you can log in at:
https://localhost:9090/
or
https://IP_ADDRESS_OF_MACHINE:9090/
with your user name.
However, a certificate is missing here.
This is very critical for a central configuration tool that is accessible via the network.
The certificate should therefore still be created.
