File linux-2.6-xen-remove-bug-from-evtchn-during-retrigger.patch of Package kernel
Date: Fri, 3 Nov 2006 15:33:50 -0200 From: Glauber de Oliveira Costa <gcosta@redhat.com> Subject: [RHEL5 Xen] kernel BUG at drivers/xen/core/evtchn.c After a retrigger event in an evtchn, we should make sure the channel is unmasked, thus able to receive the interrupt, and not masked, as the code states. Though rare (as retriggerin does not seem to happen all the time), the bug is quite reproducible when rettriggering are in fact happening. Main reason, is that just before calling retrigger, we explicitly _unmask_ the channel (enabling us to see the irq edge _and_ forcing the bug to happen!) This was not sent upstream, as it only affects kernel versions after the irq subsystem rework, which includes our 2.6.18 base, but excludes xen-unstable 2.6.16's. It was reported by a client in #210672, and client's initial test with the patch seems to fix the problem. Please ACK for inclusion -- Glauber de Oliveira Costa Red Hat Inc.
