The openSUSE invis-Server is an openSUSE derivate. It is aimed to the needs of small and medium business companies who need highly reliable system with plenty of features while it needs a minimum of maintenance.

The openSUSE invis-Server comes with a long feature list to fulfill all needs in that area.

The samba packages shipped with openSUSE use MIT Kerberos to realize an ActiveDirectory Domain Controller. This is highly experimental and buggy.

Therefore we decided to ship our own packages with Heimdal Kerberos again.

Samba packages built with the embedded Heimdal Kerberos
The MIT Kerberos build of Samba as an AD DC is experimental. This project builds Samba with its embedded Heimdal Kerberos version.

Provides a set of daemons to manage access to remote directories and
authentication mechanisms. It provides an NSS and PAM interface toward
the system and a pluggable backend system to connect to multiple different
account sources. It is also the basis to provide client auditing and policy
services for projects like FreeIPA.
