Celestia is a free real-time space simulation that lets you experience
our universe in three dimensions. Unlike most planetarium software,
Celestia does not confine you to the surface of the Earth. You can
travel throughout the solar system to any of over 100,000 stars or even
beyond the galaxy. All travel in Celestia is seamless; the exponential
zoom feature lets you explore space across a huge range of scales, from
galaxy clusters down to spacecraft only a few meters across. A
'point-and-goto' interface makes it simple to navigate through the
universe to the object you want to visit.

Childsplay is a suite of educational games for young children. It's written in
Python and uses the SDL-libraries. The aim is to be educational and at the same
time be fun to play.

Some activities make use of language dependent voice samples, these sounds are
shared with gcompris. For those you'll have to install the gcompris-sound
package for the languages you intend to use. For example gcompris-sound-en.

Dia is designed to be much like the commercial program 'Visio.' It can
be used to draw many different kinds of diagrams. It has special
objects to help draw entity relationship diagrams, UML diagrams, SADT,
flowcharts, network diagrams, and simple circuits. It is possible to
add support for new shapes by writing simple XML files, and using a
subset of SVG to draw the shape.

Dia can load and save diagrams to a custom XML format (gzipped by
default to save space), can export diagrams to EPS, PNG, CGM, or SVG
formats, and can print diagrams (including ones that span multiple
pages).
