Involved Projects and Packages
ZNC is an IRC bouncer with many features like detaching, multiple
users, per channel playback buffer, SSL, IPv6, transparent DCC bouncing, and
C++ module support.
Bogofilter is a Bayesian spam filter. In normal operation, it takes an
e-mail message or text from standard input, does a statistical check
against lists of "good" and "bad" words, and returns a status code
indicating whether the message is spam. Bogofilter is designed with
fast algorithms (including the Berkeley DB system), coded directly in
C, and tuned for speed, so it can be used for production by sites that
process a lot of mail.
Dstat is a versatile replacement for vmstat, iostat, netstat and ifstat.
Dstat overcomes some of their limitations and adds some extra features,
more counters and flexibility. Dstat is handy for monitoring systems
during performance tuning tests, benchmarks or troubleshooting.
Dstat allows you to view all of your system resources instantly, you
can eg. compare disk usage in combination with interrupts from your
IDE controller, or compare the network bandwidth numbers directly
with the disk throughput (in the same interval).
Dstat gives you detailed selective information in columns and clearly
indicates in what magnitude and unit the output is displayed. Less
confusion, less mistakes.
pydf displays the amount of used and available space on your file systems,
just like df, but in colors. The output format is completely customizable.
This project contains proxy implementations, for HTTP, FTP, or others. It also serves as development project for packages around the topic of proxies in the openSUSE:Factory distribution. If you want to participate you can contact us individually. Please report bugs to the respective bugowners as set.
Squid is a caching proxy for the Web supporting HTTP(S), FTP, and
some others. It reduces bandwidth and improves response times by
caching and reusing frequently-requested web pages. Squid has
extensive access controls and can also be used as a server
accelerator.
hwdata contains various hardware identification and configuration data,
such as the pci.ids and usb.ids databases.
PyBugz is a python and command line interface to Bugzilla.
It was conceived as a tool to speed up the workflow for Gentoo Linux
developers and contributors when dealing with bugs using Bugzilla. By
avoiding the clunky web interface, the user quickly search, isolate and
contribute to the project very quickly. Developers alike can easily extract
attachments and close bugs all from the comfort of the command line.
screenFetch is a "Bash Screenshot Information Tool". This handy Bash
script can be used to generate one of those nifty terminal theme
information + ASCII distribution logos you see in everyone's screenshots
nowadays. It will auto-detect your distribution and display an ASCII
version of that distribution's logo and some valuable information to the
right. There are options to specify no ascii art, colors, taking a
screenshot upon displaying info, and even customizing the screenshot
command! This script is very easy to add to and can be easily extended.
Scan data needed for some scanning applications from dvb package and maybe
others. This package contains v3 of the files.
Devilspie 2 is based on the excellent program Devil's Pie by Ross Burton, and
takes a folder as in-data, and checks that folder for LUA scripts. These
scripts are run each time a window is opened, and the rules in them are applied
on the window.
Unfortunately the rules of the original Devil's Pie are not supported.
This is the X11:Utilities project. Its main purpose is to serve as development project for packages around the topic of X11 utilities in the openSUSE:Factory distribution. If you want to participate you can contact us individually or use our mailinglist opensuse-xorg@opensuse.org. Please report bugs to the respective bugowners as set.
adriconf (Advanced DRI CONFigurator) is a GUI tool used to configure open
source graphics drivers. It works by setting options and writing them to
the standard drirc file used by the Mesa drivers.
Xtermset allows you to change the characteristics of an xterm window
from the command line. Most options have the same names as those that
you would give an xterm at startup.
