In this game, race against other players on a permanently moving
lightcycle (virtual motorbike), which leaves a wall as a trace. The
lightcycles can make 90 degree turns and accelerate when driven close
to walls. The game is over if you hit a wall. The goal of the game is
to try to make your enemies hit the walls, while you avoid doing the
same. Unlike glTron, this program does not require 3D hardware support.
GNU Autoconf is a tool for configuring source code and makefiles. Using
autoconf, programmers can create portable and configurable packages,
because the person building the package is allowed to specify various
configuration options.
You should install autoconf if you are developing software and would
like to create shell scripts to configure your source code packages.
Note that the autoconf package is not required for the end user who may
be configuring software with an autoconf-generated script; autoconf is
only required for the generation of the scripts, not their use.

AutoGen is a tool designed for generating program files that contain
repetitive text with varied substitutions. Its goal is to simplify the
maintenance of programs that contain large amounts of repetitious text.
This is especially valuable if there are several blocks of such text
that must be kept synchronized in parallel tables.
Automake is a tool for automatically generating "Makefile.in" files
from "Makefile.am" files. "Makefile.am" is a series of "make" macro
definitions (with rules occasionally thrown in). The generated
"Makefile.in" files are compatible with the GNU Makefile standards.

BB is a high quality audio-visual demonstration for your text terminal.
It is a portable demo, so you can run it on plenty of operating
systems and DOS.
Boost provides free peer-reviewed portable C++ source libraries. The
emphasis is on libraries that work well with the C++ Standard Library.
One goal is to establish "existing practice" and provide reference
implementations so that the Boost libraries are suitable for eventual
standardization. Some of the libraries have already been proposed for
inclusion in the C++ Standards Committee's upcoming C++ Standard
Library Technical Report.
Although Boost was begun by members of the C++ Standards Committee
Library Working Group, membership has expanded to include nearly two
thousand members of the C++ community at large.
This package is mainly needed for updating from a prior version, the
dynamic libraries are found in their respective package. For development
using Boost, you also need the boost-devel package. For documentation,
see the boost-doc package.
Boost Jam is a build tool based on FTJam, which in turn is based on
Perforce Jam. It contains significant improvements made to facilitate
its use in the Boost Build System, but should be backward compatible
with Perforce Jam.
Botan is a C++ library that provides support for many common
cryptographic operations, including encryption, authentication, and
X.509v3 certificates and CRLs. A wide variety of algorithms is
supported, including RSA, DSA, DES, AES, MD5, and SHA-1.
Uses installwatch to keep track of all files created or modified during
the run of an installation script like "make install". The information
is used to create a rpm package that holds all files installed by the
tracked installation. This makes it possible, for example, to remove
all files later with rpm -e package or to install the package on
another system.
Basic file, shell, and text manipulation utilities. The package
contains the following programs:
[ arch base64 basename cat chcon chgrp chmod chown chroot cksum comm cp
csplit cut date dd df dir dircolors dirname du echo env expand expr
factor false fmt fold groups head id install join kill link ln logname
ls md5sum mkdir mkfifo mknod mktemp mv nice nl nohup od paste pathchk
pinky pr printenv printf ptx pwd readlink rm rmdir runcon seq sha1sum
sha224sum sha256sum sha384sum sha512sum shred shuf sleep sort split
stat stty su sum sync tac tail tee test timeout touch tr true tsort tty
uname unexpand uniq unlink uptime users vdir wc who whoami yes
CVS is a front-end to the rcs (Revision Control System) included in the
standard Linux distributions. PCL-CVS, an emacs (Emacs) front-end for
CVS, is also included.
Delta assists you in minimizing "interesting" files subject to a test
of their interestingness. A common such situation is when attempting to
isolate a small failure-inducing substring of a large input that causes
your program to exhibit a bug. Please see
/usr/share/doc/packages/delta/www/using_delta.html for documentation.
The GNU diff utilities find differences between files. diff is used to
make source code patches, for instance.
Dos2unix is used to convert plain text from DOS (CR/LF) format. Mac2unix
converts plain text from MAC (CR) format to UNIX format (LF).
Unix2dos converts plain text files from UNIX
format to DOS format and unix2dos converts from UNIX to MAC format.
FileZilla is a modern and powerful FTP client for Windows and Linux.
FileZilla development focuses on high usability while also supporting
as many useful features as possible. FileZilla is "Open Source" under
the GPL license.
Some of the main features are: * Continuing interrupted
up-/downloads
* Managing different FTP sites
* Modifiable Commands
* Keep-Alive-System
* Timeout detection
* Firewall support
* SOCKS4/5 and HTTP 1.1 proxy support
* SSL support (secure connections)
* SFTP support
* Upload/Download queue
* Drag&Drop support
The findutils package contains programs which will help you locate
files on your system. The find utility searches through a hierarchy
of directories looking for files which match a certain set of criteria
(such as a file name pattern). The xargs utility builds and executes
command lines from standard input arguments (usually lists of file
names generated by the find command).
You should install findutils because it includes tools that are very
useful for finding things on your system.
Mono with its 'resgen' program uses a design that Microsoft created and
that gives the power to the software vendor and not to the user: it
doesn't allow the end-user to create his own localisations for existing
programs. As documented in the gettext manual:
The advantages of the .dll' format over the .resources' format are:
1. 1. Freedom to localize: Users can add their own translations to an
application after it has been built and distributed. Whereas
when the programmer uses a ResourceManager' constructor provided
by the system, the set of .resources' files for an application
must be specified when the application is built and cannot be
extended afterwards.
2., 3., 4. ...
The included GNU.Gettext.dll gives the user this freedom back and the
also included msgfmt.net.exe and msgunfmt.net.exe handle PO files more
reliably than 'resgen'.
This package includes the tools needed to support message catalogs in
Java applications. It also includes example code for java, java+awt and
java+swing.
This package contains the intl library as well as tools that ease the
creation and maintenance of message catalogs. It allows you to extract
strings from source code. The supplied Emacs mode (po-mode.el) helps
editing these catalogs (called PO files, for portable object) and
adding translations. A special compiler turns these PO files into
binary catalogs.
gnump3d is a simple server that allows you to stream MP3s and OGG
Vorbis files across a network.
Gramofile is a program to digitize audio records. Through the
application of several filters, it is possible to accomplish a
significant reduction of disturbances like ticks and scratches. Data is
saved in WAV format, making it easy to record on CD with programs like
cdrecord or xcdroast.
