Subprojects exists for internal dependencies, and packages from Arch core/extra where I'd like have a faster update or make different packaging decisions.

I add packages directly when want to provide early updates or urgent packages while waiting for Arch packagers, or alternative packages (using provides) when I'd like to use alternative build configurations or make some different packaging decisions.
