Involved Projects and Packages
LabOS delivers a rolling Linux that stays stable by policy — fast by default, steady by design.
Built on openSUSE Slowroll and GNOME Old-Stable, it lets others be the beta testers—so your extensions, workflow, and desktop stay intact. It delivers the latest security fixes and new features, only a step behind the bleeding edge, for stability without compromise.
Read-only at its core, with rollbacks built in, updates are atomic and safe. Every LabOS package and image is reproducibly built and verified on the Open Build Service — and every release is backed by the millions of automated tests that power Slowroll.
The GNOME desktop is refined out of the box for productivity — carefully configured for focus, efficiency, and polish.
Tuned for responsiveness, gaming, and low-latency audio, yet able to scale to scientific and HPC workloads. This is the future of Linux workstations.
Parent project for TechniComp LabOS. Provides Slowroll-based repositories with overlay paths for vendor packages and optional GNOME pinning. Downstream projects (:Packages, :PinnedGNOME, :Images) build against this configuration.
KIWI build definitions for LabOS installation media (ISO, raw images). Images consume the LabOS meta/pattern packages and repositories, producing signed artifacts for end users.
Contains LabOS-specific packages not in Slowroll (e.g., hardware support, vendor utilities, firmware helpers). Also includes LabOS meta/pattern packages that define the default software selection for LabOS images.
