dracut
Dracut contains tools to create a bootable initramfs for 2.6 and newer Linux kernels.
Unlike existing implementations, dracut does hard-code as little as possible
into the initramfs. Dracut contains various modules which are driven by the
event-based udev. Having root on MD, DM, LVM2, LUKS is supported as well as
NFS, iSCSI, NBD, FCoE with the dracut-network package.

Hi @tsaupe, I can't install kernel anymore because /sbin/installkernel is missing, what is the alternate for this script?
It seems the new package that should contain it (kernel-install-tools) is not present yet. For now, you can download the script from https://github.com/openSUSE/dracut/blob/SUSE/049/suse/dracut-installkernel and copy it to /sbin/installkernel.
This is a major issue. Do you know where I can subscribe for updates on this?
Ok, everything works after installing that script. I would love to see kernel-install-tools being made available to factory/tumbleweed or please revert this "request 923450".
The kernel-install-tools package is already available in Factory, it should be available for download in the next snapshot.
