This is a great kde5 port. It would be nice, to try to get it merged into official opensuse packages!
Thanks but no, I use it for my own purpose, and would not have the time to fix and keep it running with the fast change pace of Factory. So if you also want to maintain it, we can then find a correct devel project again (this is how submission to Factory work) and such try to submit it.
In the meantime you are of course completely free to use the resulting package here :-)
If you're interested, in my home branch of your kim package, I've seen the hint about new sources that you added recently to the spec file , so I've created a kim5 package starting from your package's spec/patch files and obs_scm on the kim5 GH source. https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:edogawa/kim5
This version has a new feature: compress and resize videos to 720p mp4, which is a great addition IMO.
I consider to submit this to Graphics or KDE:Extra and try to maintain it or even get it into Factory - I'm hesitating for the same reason, maintaining Factory packages is a commitment and I can't always spend the needed time or even have the knowledge to fix CVEs and such. If you're interested we may share maintainership?
