Mininet is a tool to test OpenFlow networks using process-level virtualization.
By taking advantage of process-based virtualization using Linux network namespaces, Mininet can create large OpenFlow (or legacy IP) networks with virtual hosts, switches, and OpenFlow controllers, all on a single PC. Mininet provides a "network laboratory on a laptop" which can run full Unix network applications, and includes a CLI and API for creating and interacting with the virtual network.
