- This is mainly for editing text files inside Podman / Docker container, with Emacs-flavored key-binding + syntax highlight + Unicode support, and the whole installation is merely about 1.2MB (GNU Emacs requires > 60 MB)
- Fabrice Bellard's original QEmacs ( https://bellard.org/qemacs/ ) has remained unmaintained for over 10 years (0.3.3 was released in 2013, which is already unusable due to segfaults). this is a fork by @chqrlie ( https://github.com/qemacs/qemacs ).
- The version number is commit date. The .tar.gz is directly downloaded from GitHub.
