Hi, systemctl start shadowsocks-rust-server.service failed due to permission denied access to /etc/shadowsocks/shadowsocks-rust.json.

The service is running as shadowsocks:shadowsocks, and the directory /etc/shadowsocks has permission 640 with owner root:shadowsocks. So shadowsocks group cannot access files in /etc/shadowsocks directory. chmod g+x /etc/shadowsocks solves this issue.
