Hello,
I found a a regression in 1.9.0 which causes Caps Lock to interfere with navigation keys under X11. I sent a bug report upstream (see https://github.com/xkbcommon/libxkbcommon/issues/740) and the issue is resolved (see https://github.com/xkbcommon/libxkbcommon/pull/741) in xkbcommon-1.9.1.
