The BOyO Linux project is an initiative to build an OpenSUSE 11.4 based distribution which is 90 to 100 % compatible with OpenSUSE / Novell programs thus it is very OpenSUSE/Novell based !
This distribution is basically a debranded / rebranded OpenSUSE distribution with other artworks and different logos & icons, with a different name. It wants to come out working out of the box ( with codecs and internet plugins for flash, etc. already installed ). and with possibly other themes and patterns.

This project is dedicated to the people of the earthquake devastated Caribbean island of Haiti an its friends in the world.
Thus the name of this new distribution : "BOYO" is the first aborigines synonym name of the island itself. There were 3 names for the island when Christopher Columbus discovered it : Ayiti ( Haiti ), Quiqueya or Boyo. All meaning :
" Mountainous and mysterious Land. "
In this modern world, BOYO is also an abbreviation for : Begin Organizing Your Operations / Begin Operating Your Organization.

This Open Source Linux distribution based on OpenSUSE wants to be an educational and promotional tool for Open Source softwares and Solutions to real problems in a country in a rebuilding / building phase. There are no significant computerization in the public and private sector in the country. So the BoYo Linux initiative has a niche.

This new distro wants to be for OPENSUSE/NOVELL ... what MINT is for UBUNTU, what UBUNTU is for DEBIAN,
it definitely wants to be what ClearOS or CENTOS is for FEDORA/REDHAT.
