Peru payment gateway for online courses and digital services
I launched an online platform to sell training courses on translation and localization in Latin America. I wanted to enter the Peruvian market, but I found that locals generally don’t like to enter their credit card information on unfamiliar websites and overwhelmingly request payment via e-wallets. Could you advise on the best way to accept the local currency, the PEN, so I don’t lose out on local students?

By the way, I also thought about transaction verification and reserves. How is confirmation of successful payment typically handled on the backend with these acquiring services, and do they freeze a portion of the revenue for a month as “rolling reserves,” as European services do?
Hey! Shoppers in Peru are crazy about the Yape wallet, so it's pointless to launch a site there without it. People will just close the tab. For the Latin American market, we set up A-Pay Peru, which allows you to accept Yape in PEN via a ready-made hosted page or API. They don't hold funds or require reserves, and the status of each transaction is recorded via signed postbacks sent directly to your server. During onboarding, they also provide a test project with developers where you can safely run through all payments before the actual launch. Do you sell your courses on a subscription basis or as one-time purchases?
