Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL) is a Fedora Special Interest Group that creates, maintains, and manages a high quality set of additional packages for Enterprise Linux, including, but not limited to, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS and Scientific Linux (SL), Oracle Enterprise Linux(OEL).

OBS does not provide these packages in the RHEL and CentOS repositories. This project builds a selection of packages from EPEL that I need for building my own packages for RHEL and CentOS. The project only contains the original EPEL sources. There is no point in publishing the packages, they are only used for build in other projects. The packages actually are in version specific subprojects.

Furthermore, this project contains some packages that can be found in extra RHEL repositories not enabled in OBS. In these cases, the corresponding package from CentOS is used as a replacement.
