The smaragd layer: identity, defaults, branding, patterns.

A layer, not a fork. Unchanged packages are inherited from the base; only what we
actually touch is built here — which is why this project uses a repository PATH
to the base rather than a project LINK. A link would inherit every package and
make this a mirror of the base; a path builds against it and keeps only our own
packages.

Build time, not disk space, is the limit on OBS. Additive packages are cheap;
patches to core libraries are expensive.

x86_64 only. No i586 as an architecture — but the 32-bit LIBRARIES stay, because
Steam, Proton and Wine need them.

Nothing in the signed boot chain is ever rebuilt here: shim, grub2-efi, kernel
and the kernel module packages come from the base untouched. That is the only
reason Secure Boot works on every device without the user being asked to disable
it.
