Sorry, but you have to provide some more detail about what changed with the version update, i.e. which bugs where fixed, which features got added (if any). Sometimes, upstream provides no changelog, if you do not want to go over the SCM commits, it is ok to add a remark like this (or similar):

- Update to version $BLA:
* Upstream provides no changelog

most prominent changes are the use of autotools and
switch to X Color Management spec from net-color spec.
Some more features where added. All found bugs or fixed.

I'm sorry, but you have to put this information into the changes file. I should said this more clearly. The changes file will land in the binary rpm and is what users can query (and yast shows it too) when they're curious about the package update.
