I was just about to decline with

"The AMD K7 manufacturing stopped in 2004, but by then the Pentium 4 Willamete and Northwood steppings where both 32bit and had SSE2 support (http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Pentium_4/TYPE-Desktop%20Pentium%204%20Northwood.html). I would rather recommend a hardware upgrade instead :-)

Jokes aside, Xerces-C++ is actually supposed to be a fast XML parser implementation. I don't think disabling SSE2 would help that."

But since our current level of i586 support isn't clear, I guess this at least helps someone.
