I'll take it in, but do note that I expect you to keep pushing upstream for getting it in.
Further, should it fail to apply the next time I versionbump I'll disable it, and not feel bad about that at all.

Have the patch been merged upstream?
Not yet. They discussed it in mailing list. One of the maintainers said "lgtm", and there is no more progress on it.
