StarDict hasn't seen any active development for many years, while the world
around hasn't stood still. There are other alternatives meanwhile, like
goldendict, which is in the distro and a good successor.
With the latest switch to maridb 10.2, stardict fails to build. The needed
adaptions for stardict are IMHO not worth the time.
Therefor: please drop the package (the other, dictionary packages might still
be useful for goldendict).

Are you sure that startdict somehow depends on mariadb (I guess you mean mariadb instead of maridb)? If so, can you please point to the failed builds?
