* 2012-05-31: More verbose URL output (convenience for wget),
simple client functionality (woof )

This type of functionality has a bash build-in replacement.. So who wrote the python3 port?
No idea who wrote it, but it's mostly syntactic changes.
Are you saying that bash offers the same functionality?
