There were quite a few patches on 'star' - are those really all no longer relevant (one for example changed the default from rsh to ssh)
Agree, I will go through them and decide.
I checked them and I think we should definitely preserve the most of them. But rebasing them for the schily package needs some time as some of them are quite complex and schily star is one version ahead of the "original" star. I will try to rebase them.
Are maintainers of packages that are to be dropped included as co-maintainers of this package?

Would it be possible @kstreitova to submit the package even though it will be broken for some time on Tumbleweed? Note that it's last blocker of GCC 8 package submission that we've been pushing to Factory for quite some time. Thanks.
