Why this complexity with attributes? all the file sin /etc/alternatives are symlinks anyway and as such do not have these permissions (Regina-REXX does not have it, which for now causes a conflict in defined attributes)

You're right. I'll remove those and re-submit. Can't remember why we did that at the time, makes no sense.
