libasyncns is a C library for Linux/Unix for executing name service queries asynchronously. It is an asynchronous wrapper around getaddrinfo(3), getnameinfo(3), res_query(3) and res_search(3) from libc and libresolv.

Mini-XML is a small XML library that you can use
to read and write XML and XML-like data files in
your application without requiring large
non-standard libraries. Mini-XML only requires an
ANSI C compatible compiler (GCC works, as do most
vendors' ANSI C compilers) and a 'make' program.

Mini-XML supports reading of UTF-8 and UTF-16 and
writing of UTF-8 encoded XML files and strings.

Data is stored in a linked-list tree structure,
preserving the XML data hierarchy, and arbitrary
element names, attributes, and attribute values
are supported with no preset limits, just
available memory.

libowfat is a library of general purpose APIs
extracted from Dan Bernstein's software,
reimplemented and covered by the GNU General
Public License Version 2 (no later versions).

The API has been slightly extended (for example,
uint32_read and uint64_read functions, and
extended socket API to support IPv6.

lltag takes a list of music files on the command
line and tries to automatically understand their
filenames and guess their associated tags.

It uses an internal format database to do so. For
each file, it will try each format until one
matches the current filename, extract the
corresponding fields from the filename and set the
music tags.

lltag also allows to pass one or several
format strings like "%a - %A/%n. - %t", so that
the user may help the program when the filenames
are too strange, complex or damaged.

It is also possible to set some fields by hand
or edit some. And finally, lltag may use these
fields to rename the file according to a user-
given filename format.

lltag also provides a interface to access an
online CDDB (TrackType.org) and retrieve tags from
there. It makes it possible to tag/rename a file
from scratch.

Lists the titles of all running X windows to
stdout, similar to ls(1). Might be useful for
script integration.

Mawk (Mike's awk) is an interpreter for the
AWK Programming Language, sometimes considered
to be light and fast compared with the standard
GNU awk (gawk).

It was written by Mike Brennan. And there was
no maintainer for some time.

Thomas E Dickey adopted it, starting with fixes
from the Debian package, and resolving issues
which the package maintainer did not respond to.

minit is an attempt to cross-breed DJ Bernstein's
daemontools and init, while adding dependencies,
and maintaining minimal code base. It is possible
to start and stop services on the fly.

minit does not depend on a mounted /proc file
system, and it does not write to any part of the
file system, not even to start and stop services.

It does not use System V IPC, either.

Maintainer Bugowner

mlocate is a new locate implementation. The "m"
stands for "merging", because updatedb reuses the
existing database to avoid re-reading most of the
file system. This makes updatedb faster and does
not trash the system caches as much.

The locate(1) utility is intended to be
completely compatible to slocate. It also attempts
to be compatible to GNU locate, when it does not
conflict with slocate compatibility.

Maintainer Bugowner

mpdscribble is a daemon that submits tracks played by the
Music Player Daemon (mpd) to last.fm (formerly known as
"audioscrobbler").

Nowadays, it also supports scrolling to libre.fm

Maintainer Bugowner

mutt next generation (mutt-ng) is a fork of the
well-known email client mutt with the goal to both
incorporate all the patches that are floating
around in the web, and to fix all the other little
annoyances of mutt.

Mutt is a small but very powerful text based
program for reading electronic mail under unix
operating systems, including support color
terminals, MIME, and a threaded sorting mode.

Ncmpcpp has a ncurses UI very similar to ncmpc, but it
provides new useful features such as support for
regular expressions in the search engine, extended
song formating, filtering per item, last.fm support,
ability to sort the playlist, local filesystem
browser and other minor functions.

Dependencies:

* ncurses library
* curl library (optional)
* tag library (optional)

New features:

* tag editor
* playlists editor
* easy to use search screen
* media library screen
* lyrics screen
* fetching artist's info from last.fm
* a lot of minor useful functions

nhttpd is a simple, fast and secure HTTP server.

It runs as a single process, handling connections
with select(2).

For CGIs and directory listing it does fork(2).
nhttpd has the minimum of HTTP/1.1 and CGI/1.1
implemented. Also supported are; chroot, setuid,
basic authentication, SSL, IPv6, custom repsonses,
aliases, and virtual hosts.

To stop the server send a SIGTERM singal to the PID.
The access log is written in standard CLF format.

Pathological is an enriched clone of the game
"Logical" by Rainbow Arts. To solve a level,
fill each wheel with four marbles of matching
color.

Various board elements such as teleporters,
switches, filters, etc. make the game
interesting and challenging.

New levels can be created using any text editor.

Maintainer Bugowner

A GTK2 color selector (also known as color picker)
written in Python.

It waits placed on the system tray until you click
on it. Then a color chooser is displayed to select
colors from different sources for whatever task is
at hand.

A Python binding for the libasyncns asynchronous
name service query library. See libasyncns for
more information on this software library.

Written in C, qingy is a replacement for getty.

It uses DirectFB to provide a fast, nice GUI
without the overhead of the X Windows System.

It allows the user to log in and start the
session of his choice (text console, gnome, kde,
wmaker, ...)

checks computers running UNIX (clones) for the
presence of rootkits and other unwanted tools.

This package is based on the package 'runit' from project 'home:darix'.

runit is a cross-platform Unix init scheme with service supervision; a
replacement for sysvinit and other init schemes. It runs on GNU/Linux, *BSD,
Mac OS X, and Solaris, and can easily be adapted to other Unix operating
systems. runit implements a simple three-stage concept. Stage 1 performs the
system's one-time initialization tasks. Stage 2 starts the system's uptime
services (via the runsvdir program). Stage 3 handles the tasks necessary to
shutdown and halt or reboot.

rxvt-unicode is a clone of the well known terminal
emulator rxvt, modified to store text in Unicode
(either UCS-2 or UCS-4) and to use locale-correct
input and output. rxvt-unicode also supports
mixing multiple fonts at the same time.

This "light" version does not include Xft fonts
support nor virtual backgrounds but simple
transparency, no mouse scrolling support and just
esential 8bit stuff. Achieving almost a half of the
original binary size and hopefully more speed for
minimalist-keytyping oriented people.

SKVM is a lightweight volume manager for GNU/Linux. It depends on ha
l and dbus.

It is meant to be simple to use, efficient and functional. It has
been tested and working on Arch linux and Debian, however the init s
cript
needs to be adapted when used on Debian.

Slock is a Simple X display locker. It is fairly
enough stable and quite a lot people in the
suckless.org community are using it every day when
they are out with friends or fetching some food
from the local pub.

Slock represents a very good alternative over
bloated screen lockers since it is very less
resource intensive and just turns off the screen
until the user session password is given.

Simple X selection printer. Prints the X
selection to stdout. If there is no X client
owning the selection it just exits.

Useful for scripts where you can query the X
selection without pressing mouse Button2 in
cumbersome ways.
