A nice package.

Maintainer

This package is based on the package 'portaudio' from project 'openSUSE:Factory'.

PortAudio is a portable audio I/O library designed for cross-platform
support of audio. It uses a callback mechanism to request audio
processing. Audio can be generated in various formats, including 32 bit
floating point, and will be converted to the native format internally.

PSPP is a program for statistical analysis of sampled data. It
is a free replacement for the proprietary program SPSS.

PSPP development is ongoing. It already supports a large subset of
SPSS's syntax. Its statistical procedure support is currently
limited, but growing. At your option, PSPP will produce statistical
reports in ASCII, PostScript, PDF, HTML, SVG, or OpenDocument formats.

This package is based on the package 'pvm' from project 'openSUSE:Factory'.

Needed by the package scilab.

PVM is a software system that enables a collection of heterogeneous
computers to be used as a coherent and flexible concurrent
computational resource.

The individual computers may be shared- or local-memory
multiprocessors, vector supercomputers, specialized graphics engines,
or scalar workstations, that may be interconnected by a variety of
networks, such as ethernet, FDDI. User programs written in C, C++ or
Fortran access PVM through library routines.

After installation you find in /usr/share/doc/packages/pvm/ the
documentation as PostScript file pvm-book.ps. Furthermore some
examples are packed together in two tar archives. Those archives
should be extracted into your HOME directory which leads to
~/pvm3/examples/ or ~/pvm3/gexamples/ in your HOME directory. The call
`aimk all' (see manual page aimk(1)) e.g. in ~/pvm3/examples/ compiles
the examples for the PVM system.

The PVM web home page is at http://www.epm.ornl.gov/pvm/pvm_home.html .

Main purpose is helping them in using the mouse like:

* mouse movements
* clicks (with left, right or middle buttons)
* drag and drop

Cartoon add on for the "Drag and drop" activity.

Maintainer

Different language packages for PySyCache.

PySyCache add on for the "Drag and drop" activity.

Additional themes for the "Click" activity.

Additional themes for the "Move" activity.

This is the python Imaging library which is required for python-ReportLabs.

lxml is a Pythonic binding for the libxml2 and libxslt libraries. It follows
the ElementTree API as much as possible, building it on top of the native
libxml2 tree. It also extends this API to expose libxml2 and libxslt specific
functionality, such as XPath, Relax NG, XML Schema, XSLT, and c14n.

Visual is a Python module for 3D scientific visualization. It offers
real-time 3D output and is easily usable by novice programmers.

A program can create 3D objects (such as spheres, curves, etc.) and
position them in 3D space. Visual, running in a separate thread,
automatically updates a 3D scene many times per second to reflect the
current position of the objects. The programmer does not need to deal
with display management but can focus on the computational aspects for
the program. The user can navigate in the 3D scene by using the mouse
to zoom and rotate while the program is running. Visual supports full
vector algebra.

This package is based on the package 'rasmol' from project 'openSUSE:Factory'.

RasMol is an X Window System tool intended for the visualization of
proteins and nucleic acids. It reads Brookhaven Protein Database (PDB)
files and interactively renders them in a variety of formats on either
an 8-bit or 24/32-bit color display.

Examples are in /usr/lib/rasmol.

This package contains the description of the most important changes for this openSUSE education release.
In HTML format, they are available in the help center.

Childsplay is a suite of educational games for young children, like gcompris, but without the overkill of c/c++ and the gnome environ.

Also the use of the SDL libraries makes smooth animation and the playing of sound very easy.

Childsplay uses a plugin system for the games, so you might want to check the Childsplay plugins page. (There are two built-in games: memory and a typing game.)

SchoolTool is free administrative software for schools around the world. The goals of the project are to create a simple turnkey student information system, including demographics, gradebook, attendance, calendaring and reporting for primary and secondary schools, as well as a framework for building customized applications and configurations for individual schools or states.

This is learning software to train and improve skills in reading music notes. Score Reading Trainer generates random notes and the user shall identify the notes. It can produce various music gamuts in different clefs.

This software can be useful for music teachers to let the students work alone and learn/improve their skills in reading music notes alone.

Scratch is a new programming language that makes it easy to create your own
interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art -- and share your
creations on the web.

Scratch is designed to help young people (ages 8 and up) develop 21st century
learning skills. As they create Scratch projects, young people learn important
mathematical and computational ideas, while also gaining a deeper understanding
of the process of design.

This package is based on the package 'SDL_gfx' from project 'openSUSE:Factory'.

The SDL_gfx library evolved out of the SDL_gfxPrimitives code which
provided basic drawing routines such as lines, circles or polygons and
SDL_rotozoom which implemented a interpolating rotozoomer for SDL
surfaces. The current components of the SDL_gfx library are:

- Graphic Primitives (SDL_gfxPrimitives.h)

- Rotozoomer (SDL_rotozoom.h)

- Framerate control (SDL_framerate.h)

- MMX image filters (SDL_imageFilter.h)

The library is backwards compatible to the above mentioned code. It is
written in plain C and can be used in C++ code.

Maintainer

This package is based on the package 'SDL_image' from project 'openSUSE:Factory'.

This is a simple library to load images of various formats as SDL
surfaces. This library supports BMP, PPM, PCX, GIF, JPEG, PNG, and TIFF
formats.

Maintainer

This package is based on the package 'SDL_net' from project 'openSUSE:Factory'.

This is a small cross-platform networking library for use with SDL.

Pango is the text rendering engine of GNOME 2.x. SDL_Pango connects the
engine to SDL.

Maintainer

This is a sample library that allows you to use TrueType fonts in your
SDL applications.

A very good german documentation of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DHTML, XML/XSLT,
CGI/Perl and more, with many additional tips for design, graphics, project
management, etc.

Up to now there is only a german version. Translations into english, french,
spanish and japanese are in progress but not yet completed.
