Involved Projects and Packages

libpcap is a library used by packet sniffer programs. It provides an
interface for them to capture and analyze packets from network devices.
This package is only needed if you plan to compile or write such a
program yourself.

A library to play Commodore 64 music based on libsidplay2.

A general purpose TCP-IP emulator used by virtual machine hypervisors
to provide virtual networking services.

Libsndfile is a C library for reading and writing sound files, such as
AIFF, AU, and WAV files, through one standard interface. It can
currently read and write 8, 16, 24, and 32-bit PCM files as well as
32-bit floating point WAV files and a number of compressed formats.

This is the ASN.1 library used in GNUTLS. More up to date information
can be found at http://www.gnu.org/software/gnutls and

Libxml2 is the XML C parser and toolkit developed for the Gnome project.

libxmp is a module player library which supports many module formats,
including MOD, S3M and IT. Possible applications for libxmp include
standalone module players, module player plugins for other players,
module information extractors, background music replayers for games
and other applications, converters, etc.

This C library allows to transform XML files into other XML files
(or HTML, text, ...) using the standard XSLT stylesheet transformation
mechanism. To use it you need to have a version of libxml2 >= 2.6.27
installed. The xsltproc command is a command line interface to the XSLT engine

A YAML parser and emitter written in C.

LZ4 is a lossless data compression algorithm that is focused on
compression and decompression speed. It belongs to the LZ77
(Lempel–Ziv) family of byte-oriented compression schemes. It is a
LZP2 fork and provides better compression ratio for text files.

This subpackage provides a GPL command-line utility to make use of
the LZ4 algorithm.

minizip-ng is a ZIP file manipulation library.

It has support for:
* Basic read-write operation on zip archives (adding files and removing
files) on a high-level and also raw zip entry data
* ZIP64 extension for large files
* Zlib, BZIP2, LZMA, XZ, and ZSTD compression methods
* PKWARE- and Winzip-AES styles password protection
* NTFS timestamp support for UTC last modified, last accessed, and creation dates
* zip archive splitting
* Follow/store symbolic links
* UTF-8, cp437, cp932, cp936 and cp950 filename character set support

The mpg123 distribution contains an MPEG 1.0/2.0/2.5 audio player/decoder for
layers 1, 2 and 3 (most commonly MPEG 1.0 Layer 3 aka MP3), as well as re-usable decoding
and output libraries.

ngtcp2 is an effort to implement RFC9000 QUIC protocol.

OpenAL is an audio library designed in the spirit of OpenGL--machine
independent, cross platform, and data format neutral with a clean,
simple C-based API.

OpenAL Soft is an alternative software implementation with a shared
and a cleaned up codebase, based on the windows reference
implementation.

Library of OpenCORE Framework implementation of Adaptive Multi Rate
Narrowband and Wideband speech codec.

The Opus codec is designed for interactive speech and audio transmission over
the Internet. It is designed by the IETF Codec Working Group and incorporates
technology from Skype's SILK codec and Xiph.Org's CELT codec.

opusfile provides a high-level API for decoding and seeking within .opus files.
It includes:
* Support for all files with at least one Opus stream
(including multichannel files or Ogg files where Opus is muxed with something else).
* Full support, including seeking, for chained files.
* A simple stereo downmixing API
(allowing chained files to be decoded with a single output format, even if the channel count changes).
* Support for reading from a file, memory buffer, or over HTTP(S) (including seeking).
* Support for both random access and streaming data sources.

Orc is a library and set of tools for compiling and executing very simple programs that operate on arrays of data. The “language” is a generic assembly language that represents many of the features available in SIMD architectures, including saturated addition and subtraction, and many arithmetic operations.

PortAudio is a portable audio I/O library designed for cross-platform
support of audio. It uses a callback mechanism to request audio
processing. Audio can be generated in various formats, including 32 bit
floating point, and will be converted to the native format internally.

RtMidi is a set of C++ classes (RtMidiIn, RtMidiOut and API-specific
classes) that provides a common API (Application Programming Interface) for
realtime MIDI input/output.

This is the "Simple DirectMedia Layer" library built from sdl2-compat.
it provides a binary and source compatible API for programs written
against SDL 2.0, but it uses SDL 3.0 behind the scenes.
