Disk-based hashes is a method to create multidimensional binary trees
on disk. This library permits the extension of the database concept to
a plethora of electronic data, such as graphic information. With the
multidimensional binary tree, it is possible to mathematically prove
that access time to any particular record is minimized (using the
concept of critical points from calculus), which provides the means to
construct optimized databases for particular applications.

dbview is a little tool that displays dBase III and IV files. You can
also use it to convert your old .dbf files for further use with Unix.

Garlic is an X Window System tool intended for the molecular
visualization of protein structure, DNA structure, and biological
macromolecules. It reads Brookhaven Protein Database (PDB) files.

guitarix is a simple mono amplifier to jack with one input and two
output's. Designed to get nice trash/metall/rock/guitar sounds.

Available are the controls for bass, treble, gain, balance,
distortion, freeverb, impulse response (pre state), crybaby(wah),
feedback/feedforward-filter and echo. A fixed resonator will use,
when distortion is disabled.

The icewm-default package features a taskbar, window list, mailbox
status and digital clock in addition to that.

This package provides a software library for manipulating ID3v1 and
ID3v2 tags. It provides a convenient interface for software developers
to include standards-compliant ID3v1/2 tagging capabilities in their
applications. Features include identification of valid tags, automatic
size conversions, synchronization and resynchronization of tag frames,
seamless tag compression and decompression, and optional padding
facilities.

RasMol is an X Window System tool intended for the visualization of
proteins and nucleic acids. It reads Brookhaven Protein Database (PDB)
files and interactively renders them in a variety of formats on either
an 8-bit or 24/32-bit color display.

Examples are in /usr/lib/rasmol.

smssend is a utility providing a command line interface to the GSM
Short Message Service (SMS) via internet gateways. It requires an
active internet connection (HTTP proxy is suitable) and may require a
registration for such gateways. The program is quite configurable for
other gateways than provided, examples are included.

Keep in mind that these internet to SMS gateways may not tolerate and
may even forbid their use via scripts.

zimg generates png images from arbitrary formatted f(x,y) data. Both
plain unformatted ascii and a variety of binary input formats are
supported. Output options include variable logarithmic color mapping
VLCM and contour graphics and lots of color maps. zimg is a fast
converter.

addition to recording sounds directly from within the program, it
imports many sound file formats, including WAV, AIFF, AU, IRCAM, MP,
and Ogg Vorbis. With Audacity, you can edit wave data larger than the
physical memory size of your computer.
