epm allows a developer to create binary packages for several different plat-
forms from one single specification file ('*.list'). Currently epm supports
packaging for Debian (.dpkg), Slackware (.tgz), various other Linux distros
(.rpm), Solaris (.pkg), HP-UX (.depot/swinstall), IRIX (.inst/tardist), AIX
(.installp), *BSD (.tgz+.tbz2/pkg_add),Compaq Tru64 (.setld) and Mac OS X
(.pkg/.mpkg).
Additionally, epm provides "portable" packages (.tar.gz) that include instal-
lation as well as removal scripts and a GUI setup program. [Several software
source tarballs or SVN checkouts, such as those for cups, cupsddk and htmldoc
provide the respective epm *.list file to make packaging for multiple OS
platforms easy.]

gsnmp (short for GNet-SNMP) is an SNMP library implementation based on glib
and gnet. This library has been developed as part of the scli package (the
'SNMP Command Line Interface'). Some examples demonstrating the API can be
found in the examples directory. Some examples use stub files generated by
the smidump MIB compiler, which is part of the libsmi package.

RasterView is a CUPS raster file viewer for CUPS 1.2 and higher. It basically allows you to look at the raster data produced by any of the standard CUPS RIP filters (imagetoraster and pstoraster are used on all platforms; cgimagetoraster and cgpdftoraster are used on Mac OS X). RasterView is useful to either test those filters without a printer, or look at the data that is being sent to your raster printer driver.

The scli package provides a small and efficient command line utility to monitor and configure SNMP-aware network nodes. The scli package is based on the SNMP protocol. New versions (higher than 0.3.0) utilize a MIB compiler called smidump to generate C stub code. No SNMP knowledge is required in order to extend the scli programs with new features. The scli package can return query results either as simple, but nicely formatted text (friendly to human readers), or as XML-tagged strings (friendly to automatic post-processing software).
