GROMACS is a versatile and extremely well optimized package to perform
molecular dynamics computer simulations and subsequent trajectory
analysis. It is developed for biomolecules like proteins, but the
extremely high performance means it is used also in several other field
like polymer chemistry and solid state physics. This version has the
dynamic libs and executables; to hack new utility programs you also
need the headers and static libs in gromacs-dev. Linux kernel 2.4 or
later is STRONGLY recommended on Pentium III and later processors since
GROMACS then can use assembly loops with SSE instructions.

The Visualization ToolKit (VTK) is an open source, freely available software
system for 3D computer graphics, image processing, and visualization used by
thousands of researchers and developers around the world. VTK consists of a C++
class library, and several interpreted interface layers including Tcl/Tk, Java,
and Python.

ARPACK is a collection of Fortran77 subroutines designed to solve large scale eigenvalue problems.

Arpack-ng is the successor of the legacy Arpack. It is fully compatible with Arpack.

This open source, digitizing software converts an image file showing a graph or map, into numbers. The image file can come from a scanner, digital camera or screenshot. The numbers can be read on the screen, and written or copied to a spreadsheet.

Gerber Viewer (gerbv) is a viewer for Gerber files. Gerber files are generated from PCB CAD system and sent to PCB manufacturers as basis for the manufacturing process. The standard supported by gerbv is RS-274X. The basic difference between RS-274D (the old standard) and RS-274X is basically the addition of apertures in RS-274X. It might be possible to make an RS-274X file out of an RS-274D file and an aperture list.

GTKWave is a fully featured GTK+ based wave viewer for Unix and Win32 which reads LXT, LXT2, VZT, and GHW files as well as standard Verilog VCD/EVCD files and allows their viewing.

Icarus Verilog is a Verilog compiler that generates a variety of engineering formats, including simulation. It strives to be true to the IEEE-1364 standard.

Plot Digitizer is a Java program used to digitize scanned plots of functional data. Often data is found presented in reports and references as functional X-Y type scatter or line plots. In order to use this data, it must somehow be digitized. This program will allow you to take a scanned image of a plot (in GIF, JPEG, or PNG format) and quickly digitize values off the plot just by clicking the mouse on each data point. The numbers can then be saved to a text file and used where ever you need them. Plot Digitizer works with both linear and logarithmic axis scales. Besides digitizing points off of data plots, this program can be used to digitize other types of scanned data (such as scaled drawings or orthographic photos).

Wcalc is a tool for the analysis and synthesis of transmission line structures and related components. Wcalc provides the ability to analyze the electrical parameters of a particular structure based on the physical dimensions and material parameters. The synthesis portion calculates the required physical parameters to meet desired electrical specifications. Wcalc includes several models and places an emphasis on accuracy. Several frontends provide the user with several options for its use.
