Incus

Edit Package incus

Incus is a modern, secure and powerful system container and virtual machine manager.

It provides a unified experience for running and managing full Linux systems inside containers or virtual machines. Incus supports images for a large number of Linux distributions and is built around a very powerful, yet pretty simple, REST API. Incus scales from one instance on a single machine to a cluster in a full data center rack, making it suitable for running workloads both for development and in production.

Thanks for adding this package.

Zabbly (who maintain the debian package) also has a bunch of patches to patch lxd-ui for use with incus.1

Would a package for that be accepted into Factory?

If you can build it from source, then it could be accepted into Factory, but if we are just going to repackage "compiled" JavaScript then I suspect that isn't going to be accepted into Factory.

There was a request a month or two ago when @MaxxedSUSE was asking about this as well (they have a package of incus-ui in their home project, and it should work as-is with this package since it uses drop-in unit files to configure Incus to use incus-ui).

I don't plan to use this tool and I don't have any experience packaging JavaScript-based projects for openSUSE so I don't really have the time to deal with packaging work for incus-ui.

I have a version that builds from source here: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:Levitating/incus-ui

But it required me to manually package the js dependencies.

I have a version using obs-service-node_modules here: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:Levitating/incus-ui

But it is currently bugged out. This issue was reported to the upstream of the obs service here: https://github.com/openSUSE/local-npm-registry/issues/12

If that issue is resolved, I think my incus-ui package should be ready for factory.

Hi Aleksa, thanks for this package, is it possible to provide also the incus-client as a separated package?

Firewall failed to detect any compatible driver, falling back to \"xtables\" (but some features may not work as expected due to: Backend command \"iptables\" missing)

maybe recommend iptables?
