removed therefore also xdm-consolekit.diff

/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.common doesn't seem to be configuration, so I'd just omit the check for that.
To override it, /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc can be used instead
Hmm. Indeed. The canonical approach always was to copy /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc to ~/.xinitrc (user specific xinit config, which overrides system wide xinit config). This begs the question how one can ever move /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.common to a different location, since this is sourced by so many users by their ~/.xinitrc. Also by mine ...
Just like with /etc/services, make a symlink to /usr/etc/.../xdm.
I don't understand. How is this related to /etc/services?
I believe it doesn't hurt. Plus, things don't fail if xdm is been updated first and xinit not yet ...
