@namtrac unfortunately, no. The python dep is dragged in from the chromium build, which is apparently linked to the v8 build somehow. Unclear what Google's long term plan is but I hope they pull out python completely for this largely C++ codebase...

@dimstar @namtrac no problem. I agree with keeping Py2 well dead. I will re-open this if the build situation changes.
