Overview
Personally I have no objections to proceed with updating to OpenLDAP 2.5.
But there are significant config changes (e.g. regarding ppolicy schema). Existing slapd configurations might not even start correctly.
Should we discuss this on opensuse-factory list?
Is a filename for libldap_r still available? In my own 2.5 package I create a symlink because many other packages explicitly link to libldap_r.
Sounds good, I'll send out a mail to opensuse-factory. This update really needs way more testing especially on the server side. I personally only need an updated openldap-client to support SNI with TLS 1.3 (and that part works), but I don't actually use slapd at the moment.
Is a filename for libldap_r still available?
Currently not, no.
Btw, if you have an updated 2.5 package we could start from that one as well (I just didn't see it in the package search so I did the update myself).
This submission is broken. The .la files in /usr/lib/openldap must be kept, because slapd.conf has e.g. a line like moduleload back_mdb.la
.
